Embiggening was a technical exploration that I undertook in order to expand my artistic practise and ability. I wanted to learn to make larger vessels and so trialled both coil and throw, and sectional throwing techniques. The aesthetics of the piece are based around the relationship between ceramics and the floral world. The soft pink glaze is made to compliment the natural pinks of many flowers and the forms are based on the golden ratio.
